The Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir of First Presbyterian Church has
a strong tradition and a long history of involvement in the life of this
church. The choir as a whole--not to mention several individual
members--has been a consistent part of our traditional worship service
at 11:00 a.m. nearly every Sunday for nine months out of the year. The
skill, devotion and spirit of the choir's members enable the group to
contribute at least three pieces to each worship service, making them an
integral part of the worship experience of the congregation.
The Worship Team
The Worship Team has grown out of the developing
tradition of contemporary Worship & Praise style services. Beginning
several years ago with a couple of singer/guitarists leading the singing
of folk hymns and contemporary Christian praise songs, the Worship Team
has expanded to include piano, banjo, bass guitar, drums and a mini
"orchestra" usually consisting of 2 violins, flute, clarinet and alto
saxophone to augment the song leadership of at least 4 singers who serve
as worship and prayer leaders for the 9:00 a.m. service.
