Welcome to the first edition of Pastor Ryan’s Pen. Each week I will send out an email reflecting on the past week, providing information for the next week, and helping you be prepared for our Sunday worship service.

I want to begin by thanking everyone for your prayers and support as our son, Kellan, was in the hospital and as we transitioned up to Petoskey. Kellan was released from the hospital Sunday morning and we drove up that evening. A large group was there to help us unload our moving truck on Monday afternoon that made things go quickly. We have felt such love and support from this congregation already and are excited to make this our home.

This next week several of our children and also adults will be participating in Vacation Bible School at Zion Lutheran. I hope to see many of your children there along with some of you! A big “thank you” to Kim Timm for helping get this organized.

This Sunday in worship we will be talking about “The Next Chapter…” We will be reading from Ecclesiastes and then from Exodus about the crossing of the Red Sea. We all know what it feels like at times to be waiting for something to happen and then for that date to arrive. But then what do we do after that time? Come prepared to worship God and make some new friends as we celebrate together Sunday at 9:45a.

Together with you in service,
Pastor Ryan
