July 1 Pastor’s Pen
I awoke this morning to realize that we have turned a page in the calendar. It is now July 1 and I have been here for a month. It seems much longer than that, but not in a negative way, rather, it feels as though this church is already my home. You have welcomed in our whole family with such a loving embrace that it feels as though we have been here for years. Thank you.
This Sunday we get to celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. We will gather around the table and partake of bread and cup together. Continuing in our series on, “Why Church?” we will ask the questions: why do we do this, what’s happening when we gather around the table, and how many sacraments do we have? Plus we’ll talk a little etymology.
I hope you can join us…
Pastor Ryan
This Sunday Lynett and Swede Johnson will be hosting the coffee hour in honor of their 50th Anniversary. Please come join them in the Westminster Room and congratulate them on this wonderful occasion.
July 12th at 4p we will celebrate the Ordination and Installation of Pastor Ryan. Ordination is a once in a lifetime occasion and we don’t believe that First Presbyterian Petoskey has ever hosted an Ordination service before. Please plan to attend the wonderful and moving service next Sunday.
As part of the Ordination service we are having a reception afterwards in the Westminster Room and are in need of some more individuals to provide brownies, fruit and veggie trays, etc.  Please contact Jean Fought at: jandjfought@att.net or 347-3762. She will also have sign up sheets available on Sunday.
Donahoe Moving Information
I apologize for the confusion about the loading and unloading of things into our new house. Due to a paperwork issue we have had to change our closing date. We are hoping to close on Monday, July 6th and will let everyone know as soon as that is confirmed and we have a moving date and time set. I will make an announcement in Sunday’s service and send out an email when we know for sure.
